Recovery Support Specialist (CLS)

The purpose of this position is to assist adults with a serious mental illness or with a serious substance abuse
problem to access needed treatment and services. This position also is intended to provide or assist in
accessing services specified in the service plans of these individuals.    Plans, conducts, and facilitates support
groups, within program guidelines using available educational materials.  Works individually with clients, and
assists them in achieving the goals established in the client’s Service Plan. Completes daily paperwork, including
SALs and progress notes
Participates in Adult Treatment Teams and other clinical staffing in order to coordinate care with case managers
and other clinical staff.

Required:
•        Able to obtain cardiopulmonary (CPR) Card within 30 days of hire
•        Able to obtain non-violent crisis intervention (CIT, parts 1&2) certification within 30 days of hire
•        High School Diploma or GED
•        21 Years of age or older
•        Previous/current involvement in behavioral health as a recipient of or a family member of a recipient of
services
•        Able to complete Wellness recovery action plan training within 90 days of hire
•        Able to complete Peer Support training (2-day training out of town)
  
Preferred:
•        Bachelors degree in Behavioral Health related field
•        Minimum of 1 years experience with SMI/SA population
