CRISIS SERVICES
Crisis Services are available 24-hours a day, seven days a week by calling The
Guidance Center at (928) 527-1899 or by presenting during normal business hours.
The Guidance Center is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. To 8:00
p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. To 5:00 p.m. If the crisis also involves a medical
emergency, the individual should go directly to Flagstaff Medical Center's Emergency
Department. The FMC Emergency Department, if necessary, will contact The
Guidance Center's Crisis worker.

SERVICES FOR SERIOUS MENTAL ILLNESS
Our staff have extensive knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating
serious mental illness, and is dedicated to helping improve the lives of these clients.
Working as a team with the family and community, we empower clients with
education about their illnesses, awareness of relapse symptoms, self care, and
social and coping skills.

- Vocational Rehabilitation
- Case Management
In addition to these services,we also offer:
- Psychiatric Acute Care Hospitalization, 24 - Hour Crisis Services
- Critical Incident Stress Debriefing
- Psychiatric and Psychological Evaluations
SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES FOR ADULTS
Substance abuse affect every aspect of an individuals life. We recognize that
recovery can be a difficult process, so we encourage the participation of family and
other personal supports to work with our staff during all stages of treatment. Based
on the severity of use, clients will receive care in one of the following programs:
- Relapse Prevention
- Intensive Outpatient Program
- Residential Recovery
FAMILY BASED SERVICES
The Guidance Center provides varying levels of services to people of all ages who
are ready to make positive changes in their lives. Children, adolescents and adults
receive treatment in their community in partnership with family and community
resources. Helping clients based on their needs and strengths, rather than problems,
is central to The Guidance Center's Philosophy of care.

INITIAL ASSESSMENT
Comprehensive assessments, conducted by licensed professionals, are essential to
determining the best course of treatment. From this assessment, with the client's and
family's input, recommendations for treatment are made and individualized treatment
planning starts. Care then begins in one of the following programs.
TRANSLATORS
The Guidance Center has a staff that are Spanish-English, German-English, and
Navajo-English speaking. Other Resources are available through Northern Arizona
University and can be Contracted as necessary.
